The world as we know it has changed due to the pandemic we are in, but I love how everyone is making the best of a terribly difficult situation and coming up with the most creative ways to generate an income and keep their businesses alive!
One of the things I missed the most during lockdown is dining out - there's nothing I love more than going to a fabulous restaurant with friends and family to enjoy great food, drink delicious wine and just catch-up!
I'm lucky enough to live in Cape Town with some of the most incredible chefs and restaurants in the world (no arguing that!) and one of my absolute favourite chefs has to be Matt Manning.
Matt is an incredibly talented private chef and the owner of Grub and Vine in Cape Town. He also owns The Chef's Studio an interactive cooking space that is the permanent home of his private chef service.
We've had the pleasure of dining in Matt's restaurant and it has honestly been one of the most memorable meals we've had in the Mother City! His flavour combinations are out of this world and of course it looks like art on a plate.
During lockdown Matt created amazing dishes at home and shared it on his Instagram so naturally I forced Elrico to cook along to recreate his Mushroom Risotto and Carbonara which both got raving reviews from the family!
Once restaurants were allowed to operate during lockdown Level 3, Matt opened up his kitchens for one of the most exciting food concepts yet - a VIRTUAL DINING EXPERIENCE where you get a 5-course meal delivered by Matt himself to your home and 2 of the courses are interactive which means you will prepare it yourself with guidance from Matt!
I am useless in the kitchen honestly, but I had so much fun putting this meal together and Matt makes it so easy with his step-by-step instructions! The food was incredible (obviously) but don't take my word for it, see for yourself!

HOW DOES IT WORK?
A delectable 5-course menu, available for delivery/collection between Thursday - Saturday every week.
Three of the 5-courses are already prepared for you by Chef Matt - simply follow the instructions included to plate & enjoy.
Here’s where the interactive bit comes in: using the elements included in your package, create your starter & main courses by following a simple video tutorial from Chef Matt, sent to you upon confirmation of your order. While the dishes are guaranteed to impress, we promise it's quite simple to whip together, with many of the dish elements already pre-prepared for you!
