Societi Bistro's Winter Menu 2018

It's no secret that Societi Bistro is one of our favourite restaurants in Cape Town (we've literally been raving about their food since 2013 after we first tried their mushroom risotto - which is the best we've ever tasted to this day...) and if you're a foodie like us, you are going to love their current Winter Menu! 

Societi Bistro is known for their seasonal menu's and this Winter you can expect brand new delicious, warm and hearty meals alongside some of their old favourites (like the mushroom risotto). The menu might be smaller, but after trying these dishes, you simply cannot go wrong with any of the new options!

From Gorgonzola & Mushroom Fettuccine to Teriyaki Pulled Pork Neck and a Vegan Black Bean Hot Pot - you are in for a treat this season at this gourmet restaurant. They also have an incredible selection of wines that you can order by glass - one of the only restaurants in Cape Town that I know of who serves every wine on the menu by glass! 

Now let's get to the reason you actually clicked on my article - to see the food! 

Gin Bar where I had a rooibos gin with tonic and fresh ginger - one of my favourite drinks at the moment. 

STARTERS: 

My favourite starter on the new menu: Bone Marrow with Caper & Parsley Salsa on Charred Baguette

MAINS: 

Lamb shank with tomato, braised vegetables, red wine, buttered mash 

Teriyaki Pulled Pork Neck with a pancake, salad, salsa

Butter chicken with naan bread, basmati rice - very mild and perfect for those who likes flavour but not too much heat! 

DESSERT:

I'm sticking to my guns that Societi Bistro has the best mushroom risotto as well as the best cheesecake in Cape Town. My fellow foodies also highly recommend the crème brûlée and trust me - we've been around the block in terms of food! 

Crème brûlée with vanilla pod, chocolate nemisis, baked cheesecake, lemon tart (Ritza's favourite)
