Proudly South African with a Twist at Tindlovu Camps Bay
18 October 2020
The summer is upon us and I cannot wait to spend endless summer evenings in Camps Bay with sundowners, delicious food, friends and of course incredible beach views!
Elrico and I always make sure to choose a restaurant with a view and we happen to know of a restaurant in Camps Bay with some of the best views a restaurant could possibly offer!
Situated on the first floor of the Promenade, Tindlovu Restaurant boasts a clear ocean view, enchanting interiors and simply delicious food (trust me on this!)
What makes Tindlovu different from other restaurants is their approach to food. They have created a menu that's all about True South African Cuisine but with a twist! Think kudu carpaccio with an Asian sauce or a sago pudding combined with a lemon meringue!
We tried some of their signature dishes and here's what you can look forward to at Tindlovu (this is just a little taster - the menu has some incredible options for every tastebud!)
You simply cannot go to the beach and not have a cocktail right!
You are absolutely in for a treat here! I tried the Kalahari Tataki (which is a venison carpaccio with an Asian Twist) - I cannot recommend this enough! Elrico doesn't even eat venison and he also loved it!
If you love chicken wings and blue cheese, you are going to love their chicken wings!
Chicken Wings with Blue Cheese Cream
Kalahari Tataki - spiced, seared and sliced venison with sesame oil, fresh jalapeno, spring onion, sesame seeds
Fresh seafood is one of my favourite dishes in the world and I must say, Tindlovu does the BEST linefish I've had in ages - it is honestly perfection!
Seafood Platter for 1 - Linefish, Calamari, Mussels, Prawns with a Creamy Piri Sauce
Oxtail is comfort food for me and this oxtail had a twist with Dombolo which is an African traditional steamed bread - delicious!
8-Hour Oxtail - slow braised Dombolo, butter beans, red wine and tomato gravy
I think their dessert selection is my favourite part of the menu, just because they combined such nostalgic desserts from my childhood and made it gourmet with a Tindlovu twist of course!
Old School Milk Tart with honeycomb and coffee icre-cream
This is the most incredible chocolate dessert - if you love chocolate fondant - this is for you!
Chocolate Hot Pot with toasted hazelnut and Marula Ice-cream
A special thank you to Tindlovu for hosting us and for the most incredible lunch - you really have the best views on the strip!
