Food Review: Grassroof Farmstall, Restaurant and Bakery
03 January 2017
When on holiday, one of my favourite things to do is to explore new restaurants and have a glass of wine with family and friends. Port Elizabeth has a small variety of really good restaurants (that I prefer), and the Grassroof Farmstall, Restaurant and Bakery is one of those spots where you can enjoy nature and smell the ocean while enjoying fresh, organic food.
The Grassroof is a great spot for families and they have a good variety of activities to keep the little ones occupied so if you are looking to bring the kids along, Grassroof is a great option!

STARTERS:
I'm always drawn to tapas style food or snack platters and the Ploughmans Platter is a must for cheese and wine lovers. Beautifully served, it has everything from cheese to preserves and chilli chutney.

MAINS:
I tend to scout the food in the restaurant when choosing a main and the most popular dish ordered had to be the thin-crust gourmet pizzas. They have a big variety of toppings to choose from and it goes perfectly with a glass of wine.
The Pasta of the Day changes daily and we got to try the Bacon and Mushroom with Rocket and Parmesan.

DESSERT:
If you are a foodie, the Grassroof has these amazing Crazy Shakes that's a must for your Instagram account. This sweet work of art has the craziest toppings from ice-cream to caramel popcorn and candyfloss and comes in all kinds of flavours including chocolate, vanilla and strawberry.

On your next visit to PE, make sure to try the Grass Roof for a delicious food experience!
