Food Review: Firefish Restaurant
24 October 2017
The V&A Waterfront is known for their incredible views of Cape Town, great collection of fashion labels and the best restaurants the city has to offer which is why Firefish Restaurant is the perfect addition to this great space.
Firefish Restaurant by local hospitality group The Kove Collection is a seafood restaurant with a modern menu that offers something for everyone. Select fresh fish or shellfish from the “Ice Bar” to be prepared “your way” or try a dish from their a la carte menu and have them prepare it “their way” - either way, you will not be disappointed!
Looking for something different for dinner? Look no further….here’s what you can expect from this stylish restaurant:
STARTERS:
Tuna Tartar (One of their best sellers for starters) with Avo, crispy shallots & sesame soy lime dressing
Shrimp Dim Sum (this was some of the best Dim Sum I’ve had in Cape Town)

Mussels (because Ritza tries this at every single restaurant we go to…and she loved the touch of Sake with these ones!)
MAINS:
(1).jpg)
Pan Fried Seabass with champagne, yuzu miso sauce, pickled ginger and crispy lotus root
Grilled Shellfish Platter for One -Platter includes Kingklip, Tiger Mediums, Langoustines, Crayfish, Calamari and accouterments of choice.
The platter was by far my favourite dish of the night. The shellfish were fresh, perfectly cooked and had an amazing lemon lime butter sauce. If you’re looking to share a meal - this is a great option!
DESSERT:

Cotton Cheesecake (this is not an actual cheesecake, it’s more like a deconstructed version of a cheesecake!) with pineapple sorbet, pineapple and coconut salsa, sesame soil.
Burnt Matcha Cream (HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS!) with sesame wafer, strawberries and chocolate oat crumble.
Overall, I really enjoyed my experience at Firefish restaurant. The service, ambience and of course the food was really impressive and I know this will be a great summer hangout in Cape Town during the festive season!
Thank you Firefish for a memorable meal!
