In Cape Town, it's always cocktail hour somewhere and HQ Restaurant recently launched their World Class Cocktail Menu for 2017 with trendy, delicious cocktails created by Warren Cowdy (General Manager of HQ) and his team.
If you are looking to visit a place in CT that's trendy, full of energy and filled with amazing food and drinks, HQ should be at the top of your list. The new range of World Class Cocktails are served unlike any other bar in Cape Town with things like flaming vanilla, red food colour dust and roasted jalapeno syrup all contributing to making their cocktails unique and exceptionally delicious!
The cocktail of the night on the new menu had to be the Dia de los Muertos(simply because of the awesome mug it's served in!):
Don Julio is shaken with fresh lime juice and a roasted jalapeno syrup and served over cubed ice in a short glass with a salted vanilla and jalapeno rim and a dehydrated lime – red food colour dusted over crushed ice.
Here's the other new members that will be joining the already delicious list of cocktails on offer at HQ:
Signal Hill Sunset: Bulleit Bourbon shaken cold with burnt orange cheeks, orange bitters, Aperol and a cinnamon infused vermouth. Served on the rocks
Steeped in Heritage: Tiki-style drink with Ron Zacapa, thrown with chai-steeped clarified milk and a touch of grapefruit and cinnamon syrup
The Poached One: shaken with poached pears in white wine and, a touch of lemon juice and some angostura bitters. Served on the rocks with a flaming vanilla husk.
