Weekends at Tashas Restaurant
20 February 2014
It is no secret that Ritza and I are big lovers of fabulous food and with the weekend around the corner, I have the perfect spot for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Tashas is one of the most popular hotspots across the country and they are known for their amazing food, beautiful and creative outlay and of course the ambience of the restaurant. LUXO was invited to share some of these delicious dishes with you with a visit to the new Tashas Restaurant in the V&A Waterfront Cape Town with a special touch by the owner herself, Natasha.

If you are a lover of coffee shops and gourmet food then you will definitely love Tashas. Even thought there are Tashas Restaurants all over the country (and even in Dubai coming in April), each Tashas has their own special touch to the decor, their own speciality menu and their own unique baked goods so you will never get bored with Tashas! Known for their amazing tapas, Tashas is a place where you can appreciate great food in a beautiful setting with loved ones and for me that is what restaurants should be all about!

So let's get to the good part - the food! We were spoilt rotten from start to finish and seeing as last weekend was a extremely hot, our lemon sorbet and vodka cocktails were refreshing and the absolute perfect drink for a summer day.

As already mentioned, Tashas is known for their tapas and we got a whole spread of them for our starters! From white anchovies, roasted artichokes, homemade hummus, fresh baguette, olives, tomato and mozzarella salad with olive oil dressing, tomato salad with parmesan and a edamame and beetroot salad - I think it is safe to say their variety of tapas is amazing and is great with wine on a summer's evening.

For our mains, I had one of Tasha's most popular dishes, the Karoo lamb chops with rosemary, lemon, olives and cream cheese and Ritza got a special chicken, mushroom and peas pasta whipped up by Natasha herself. Both were incredible with great presentation and amazing flavours.

My favourite part of any meal is dessert and your options are unlimited at Tashas. From freshly baked cakes and pastries to the most incredible frozen yogurt - you will definitely find something so satisfy any sweet craving! We were so stuffed after our incredible first two courses, we took home two red velvet cupcakes that was so amazing later!

Thank you to Natasha for having us at your amazing restaurant and to Zebra Square PR for organising our fabulous dinner night out!
