This year was my first experience dining at the longest table you can ever imagine having lunch at the foot of Table Mountain, better known as The Peace Table. What better way to celebrate Africa day than to come together with 700 different people from our rainbow nation to break bread at the table and enjoy the best of entertainment, food and fashion all focused on raising money for charities that care for children.
All the biggest names in the South African industry from television presenters, top chefs, radio personalities and supermodels all came together to support this event and looked good doing so!
Janez Vermeiren and model Joëlle Kayembe:
Mayor of the City of Cape Town, Patricia De Lille:
Radio Personality, Liezel van der Westhuizen:
Designer Craig Port, model Roxy Louw and Joëlle Kayembe and Marina Nestel from the Little Black Book PR :
Celebrity chef, Jenny Morris:
Our MC's of the day made sure all the guest stayed entertained and if they weren't enough guest got to enjoy proudly South African performances, an auction of the most incredible goods and of course a fabulous fashion show with all the country's most popular designers and celebrities.
Designers made their models walk almost 1 km in their couture designs and it was amazing to see such talent in our country. Thanks to KlÛK CGDT, David Tlale, Craig Port, Loin Cloth and Ashes by Anisa Mpungwe and MaXhosa by Laduma.
Food and wine brings people together and this was no ordinary "Sunday Lunch"! The food was prepared by top chefs including Peter Tempelhoff, Myatt Cafe and Chocolatier in the V&A Waterfront and all products were provided by Woolworths.
Cheers to everyone who attend this year's Peace Table! It was a truely memorable day and I think we all left feeling Proudly South African. Thank you to Marina Nestel and Jules Illing from The Little Black Book for having LUXO and we look forward to next year already!
