Food Review of the Bombay Bicycle Club!
04 August 2013
Last week LUXO was invited to enjoy an unforgettable experience at the magical Bombay Bicycle Club in Kloof Street. This bohemian inspired, fantasy-like restaurant is owned by the ever so famous Madame Zingara and it has the same design and vibe that makes you feel like you have been transported back to a trendy pub in the Moulin Rouge.

The Bombay Bicycle Club is the oldest gentlemen's club in the world and we were very excited to review and experience a night at this fabulous place!
What makes a great restaurant to me is friendly staff, a great welcoming vibe and of course a delicious menu to choose from and the Bombay Bicycle Club definitely exceeded all my expectations on every level!
To welcome us to the magical world of the Bombay Bicycle Club we started off with delicious cocktails including a frozen Margarita for me and a Cosmopolitan for Ritza:

I was so overwhelmed with starters, mains and dessert as there are way too many delicious meals to choose from, but the chef made my life very easy by serving us their most popular signature dishes at the Bombay Bicycle Club.
Starters:
Drunken Camembert ( Beer battered camembert served on a basil-infused tomato coulis). This is the perfect starter to share and it is deep fried cheese - need I say more!

Mains:
I love having the best of both worlds on one plate and seeing that their ribs is one of their biggest hits on the menu, I went for their surf and turf optionwhich is half a rack of ribs with 6 garlic butter prawns with a side of 3 delicious vegetables.

Ritza went for the classic Lamb Shanks slowly roasted with root vegetables, red wine, garlic and rosemary on a bed of mash with gremolata. This is also a dish available at the Madame Zingara and it is beyond delicous!

After mains like these, of course you are going to be super excited about dessert and when it is called Bombay Cigars - you are sure to be intrigued! Bombay cigars is deep fried philo "cigars" filled with delicious chocolate and toffee served with vanilla ice cream. It was the perfect sweet treat to end off the meal and make sure you order your own portion because it is just to yummy to have to share!

Thank you to the awesome staff and the Bombay Bicycle Club for this delicious gourmet experience! I will definitely be back!
