The biggest show at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week took place yesterday at the Grand Palais in Paris as Karl Lagerfelt showcased his latest collection for Chanel A/W 2014. This is haute couture you will only see in Paris (as haute couture only exists in Paris) and he drew inspiration from modern architecture by Le Corbusier. Karl Lagerfelt wanted to please his highly exclusive and extremely wealthy clientele by designing a collection that is young, fresh and even a bit Asian.
Strong pieces came down the runway in a variety of colour and many of the dresses were oval shaped, very embellished and over the top with textures. The show stopper was Karl Lagerfelt with a pregnant model in a wedding gown - as unexpected as only Chanel can be.
